Eye Behaviors
Body language, the act of using ones body to send a message, is commonly manifested in the way we use our eyes. The eyes speak volumes, you know. The eyes may be the window to the soul, but they are also a window to sexual interest, lying behaviors and more!
It has been observed that the eyes can be a tell all for those people who are telling a fib. Studies have indicated that people will usually close their eyes briefly before telling a whopper. Or, they may subtly but measurably overt their eyes even if just temporarily. This does not mean that any time someone breaks eye contact with you they are telling you a lie. Nor does this mean that a liar is not incapable of training her or him self to keep their eyes focused on you at all time for fear of being discovered as a liar. This is just one observed way in which people use eye behavior as a form of unintentional body language.
Then there are those who scream out their interest in another person through their transparent eye behaviors. For those sexually aroused or interested, of course their eyes may dilate. But then there are those very observable behaviors signifying interest. There’s the slick looking you up and down maneuver. And, of course, the penetrating glare is obvious in its attempt to express interest. This may be a planned message or it may just be that the interested party really can’t take her or his eyes off of you!
